Catch the quirky pianist on solo tour to support a new release this August. Folds collaborated with writer Nick Hornby (think High Fidelity and Fever Pitch) for the upcoming album Lonely Avenue. You have two chances to see him this week: Wednesday, April 13 at the Norva or Thursday, April 14 at the National. Tickets are $30 for either show.
The genre-blending band, distinguished by half-spoken vocals and numerous trumpet solos, released Showroom of Compassion in January. They’ll be playing at the 9:30 Club in DC April 14, 15, and 16. Tickets are sold out, but if you’re a die-hard fan you can find them on Stubhub starting at $58.
Eclectic, whimsical pop/rock music, a wide repertoire of style and some interesting stage antics make Of Montreal a worthwhile band to see live. Tickets are only $20 Friday, April 22 at the National.

Mellow out with the soft acoustic folk of Iron and Wine. With The Low Anthem as an opener, this evening promises to have an intimate atmosphere. Tickets are $25 this Wednesday, April 27 at the National.
See the hip hop group at the National Thursday, April 28 for “The Family Tour.” Tickets are only $17.50 and Atmosphere will be joined by Blueprint and other guests.
